~$12.93/per lb. These heritage chickens are the chickens that AREN’T usually sold in the grocery store. Cooks and eaters swear by their intense flavor. You can’t expect a heritage chicken to taste the same as any ol’ bird you buy at the grocery store—and you can’t cook them the same way, either. You need to cook these birds very low and very slow since they get a lot more exercise than their counterpart chickens. They are completely free-range on our farm, getting all the bugs and grass that they need. You might even find one or two on our front porch :). Cooking it correctly will bring out the wonderfully intense chicken flavor
